Dayton Bryant, a 17-year-old from Azle, died skydiving Sunday in Freemont County Colorado. Dayton was skydiving just before his 18th birthday.
The chief deputy of the Freemont County coroner said Dayton’s death was an accident. Officials found him 90 miles south of Denver in a field by Penrose.
Bryant was skydiving with High Sky Adventures and it was his first-time skydiving.
Friends and family are posting on Facebook about Dayton. Many remembered him for his passion for the Tuba and the high school band.
Dayton played tuba for the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps. The band is posting on Facebook about Dayton and the value he brought to them. The Cavaliers are happy to be a part in Dayton’s dream.
The teen was also a part of the Guardians Drum & Bugle Corps as a drum major. The group said on Facebook Dayton inspired many to do their best and fight for their spots. The loss of Dayton has left the members of his bands heartbroken. He was an incredible person who was an invaluable member to his team.
After spring break Azle High School will bring in grief counselors for students.
